Piaget Story
Watchmaker since 1874, Piaget has written some of the finest pages in the history of ultra-thin movements. Since the mid-1950s, it has been working to reduce the thickness of its mechanical calibers thanks to developments that will prove to be decisive for its future.
In 1957, Piaget presented the 9P at the Basel Fair, a hand-wound caliber only 2 mm thick which would become a benchmark for its finesse and technical qualities.
The brand already advocated a style of great elegance to which it has remained faithful ever since.
The Ø of the ultra-thin 9P movement (20 mm) offers generous dimensions to the dial and gives this essential component a new life: now everything starts from the dial.
It became the center of the watch, which soon exploded in color with the launch in 1963 of dials in ornamental stones.
La Finesse unleashes the creativity of the House.

Revealed to the public in 1960, the ultra-thin self-winding 12P caliber is only 2.3 mm thick thanks to the ingenious integration of an eccentric micro rotor.
Ultra-thin watches have always been part of the Piaget collections, offering the brand the opportunity to demonstrate its difference as well as its internal expertise.
Since 1998, all Piaget extra-thin models have been grouped together under the name Altiplano, in reference to the highlands of Latin America and the fascinating beauty of their landscapes.
The generous diameter of the 9P and 12P movements offered new creative perspectives to the brand which launched the ornamental stone dials in 1963. This irruption of color sparked a revolution in watchmaking.

The Altiplano Ultimate Automatic is manufactured in La Côte-aux-Fées where Piaget’s watchmakers find the quiet and calm to concentrate on this very special ultra-thin 910P manufacture self-winding movement.
They completely reimagined the construction of this timepiece, directly integrating the movement into the case back and replacing the traditional micro-rotor with an eye-catching blue PVD-coated 22-carat gold peripheral rotor, achieving record-breaking thinness and utmost elegance. The timepiece comes in a 41mm 18-carat white gold case and an elegant dark blue dial.

This watch belonged to Miles Davis.
He always had a case in the backstage with several watches including this skeleton Piaget Polo model and he chose the one he wanted to wear just before going on stage
Piaget Story
The skeleton movement of this pocket watch is limited to the essentials.
The purity and the elegance of the lines of the components of the movement are enough to make exist this part devoid of any artifice.
Piaget Story
A caseband that perpetuates the aesthetic codes of ultra-thin watches for this model from the 90s.
The entirely manual decoration of the skeleton movement is extremely sophisticated and the association of platinum and rose gives this creation a touch of originality.
Piaget Story
The Maison has taken its already exquisite ultra-thin, self-winding movement - which measures a wafer-like 2.4mm - and pared it down in order to place its key components at centre stage, allowing the world outside a glimpse of the tantalising mechanical ballet that is more usually seen only by the watch maker.
By using an off-centred oscillating weight that has been integrated within the mechanism (rather than being placed on top of it in conventional fashion), our design engineers have ensured the clearest possible view of the movement without compromising the quest for slimness of the movement and of the watch.
Measuring 42mm in diameter and just 6.5mm thick, it carries the signature Piaget Polo combination of a round bezel encircling a cushion-shaped crystal that gives a superb view onto the intricately skeletonised movement.
Finished in an elegant dark blue that contrasts beautifully with the rich rose gold of the case, the mechanism also matches the quick-change strap in blue alligator leather.

Asymmetry is one of the essential character traits of Maison Piaget’s style. The 4 historical creations exhibited here are a perfect illustration of this.
They combine the work of gold and the integration of color thanks to the ornamental stone dial in the dazzling light of calibrated diamonds and sapphires which underline the design so characteristic of this model. The brand will be inspired by it in 2013 to create the Gala model which demonstrates with gorce the unwavering link between current events and our heritage.
The haute joaillerie version launched in 1975 gives pride of place to the marquise cut, which has occupied a special place among the brand’s creations since the opening in 1959 of the Piaget show in Geneva. Inspired by the smile of the Marquise de Pompadour, this cut particularly highlights the radiant and solar style of the House.

In a tribute to the Limelight Gala and its illustrious history, Piaget is presenting new Limelight Gala Rainbow.
For the very first time in its history, Piaget has created a rainbow setting with a spectacular array of green tsavorites and coloured sapphires that range from red, orange, yellow, blue, indigo and violet, taking centre stage around the bezel and on the lugs. Piaget’s gemmologists searched long and hard for the exact colours, carat, cut, and clarity, explaining why the series is numbered and limited. The setting of this piece also demanded particular patience and expertise from the Maison’s gem-setters who needed to create the perfect colour and size transition from one gemstone to the next using an intricate technique called “Sertie Descendu” that magnifies the brilliance of each gemstone.
This automatic Limelight Gala in 18K rose gold comes in a 32mm case, with a matching dial and bracelet both decorated with Piaget’s signature « Décor Palace ». This timepiece is the perfect fusion of the Maison’s expertise in watchmaking, goldsmithing and gem-setting. Only a few artisans, who work in Piaget’s “Atelier de l’Extraordinaire”, have the expertise to hand-engrave this pattern. The engraving alone took two hours to complete on the dial and eight hours to finish across the bracelet.
